Breast Augmentation is a common operation at our clinic, and very much a favorite. The vast majority of our breasts end up delightfully soft to touch, imminently huggable and wonderfully natural in appearance due to the special technique Dr. Ceydeli uses to place the implants, called “Dual Plane” Breast Augmentation. With this technique, the implant sits both behind the pectoralis muscle and behind the breast gland. It has several advantages over the other pocket locations, in that it allows for reduced visibility of the implant at the upper pole of the breast, reduced risk of capsular contracture, reduced interference with mammography, reduced muscle distortion of the implant, and decreased risk of double bubble deformity with certain breast types. Another very important aspect of the breast augmentation surgery is deciding the right implant type and size. There is no “One fits for all” in breast surgery. Everybody’s body habitus, existing breast size/shape/contour, and skin thickness are different. That is why Dr. Ceydeli performs extensive measurements of your breasts, chest wall, and skin thickness before the surgery, and eliminates the guess work in the decision of choosing the implant size. This approach not only contributes to the more natural results, but also provides safety by minimizing the complications associated with excessively large implants. With the help of few, but very important things done differently in our clinic, extra soft, full, and natural tear-drop contour breasts are achieved when the woman is vertical, and a natural, somewhat flattened contour when she is supine (lying on her back). The softness makes lying prone (face down) – on bed or beach – also comfortable. Dr. Ceydeli also speciliazes in short-scar breast lift, also known as lollipop breast lift. This technique gives better projection, and longer lasting results, while miminizing the unsightly scars, compared to traditional breast lift techniques. When the breasts are saggy, putting large implants to fill the already stretched breast envelope will make the matters worse. The skin will stretch even more with the extra weight of the implant, and eventhough the initial results may be OK, the long-term results are almost always disappointing. That is why Dr. Ceydeli initially performs a short-scar breast lift to tighten the breast envelope, and puts the breasts where they belong on the chest wall. If the size is still a factor after the lift, the implants can still be placed as a second stage for the best and the longest lasting outcome. Performing a powerful breast lift usually gives the breast an augmented look, and implants may not even be necessary, if the procedure is done right. Please see Dr. Ceydeli’s breast lift before & after pictures at www.ceydeli.com Dr. Ceydeli published numerous articles in peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals about aesthetic breast surgery. His innovative technique about breast augmentation and lift was recognized by American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and he was invited to present his invention in their annual meeting. This technique also won the best paper award by American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Few of his other techniques in aesthetic breast surgery were featured in national Cosmetic Surgery Times magazine.
