Daniel B. Allen, M.D. is a board certified plastic surgeon who has been in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998. Prior to this, he completed his plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Oklahoma with concentrated training in aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Allen has always had a strong artistic sense and an ability to translate this into the work of his hands. In his youth he excelled at playing both the violin and the piano, winning a full college scholarship for the former and an international competition in the latter.

Born in Ohio, he moved to California to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree at UCLA before returning to Ohio for medical school. He spent 5 years in general surgery residency and 2 years doing an academic fellowship focused on wound healing, surgical infection, and microvascular surgery at the University of California at San Francisco prior to his plastic surgery training.

In addition to his private practice he is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Alameda County Medical Center where he also serves as Director of Quality Assurance for the Dept of Surgery.

Dr. Allen has lived in the Bay Area for almost 20 years. He is married, has two boys and spends most of his free time with his family. He enjoys playing jazz piano.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Allen has performed thousands of plastic surgery operations with an impeccable safety record. His patients appreciate the way he listens to their concerns and utilizes the information he obtains to achieve the result they desire.
