Frequently Asked Questions: Breast Augmentation & Breast Implants
Breast implants come in a variety of shapes, surface textures, and sizes. The implants are available with a textured or smooth surface shells. Mentor breast implants come in either round or contoured shapes.
Mentor produces two main implants types: saline filled breast implants (saline is a sterile salt water solution, and is put into the implant by your physician at the time of your surgery) or MemoryGel™ breast implants. MemoryGel™ a proprietary cohesive silicone gel developed by Mentor that is a soft gelatin-like substance which acts as a solid rather than a liquid. It holds together uniformly while still retaining the natural give of breast tissue.

Another implant that Mentor produces is the Spectrum®. The Spectrum is an adjustable saline-filled breast implant that lets your physician fine tune the size of your breasts after your breast augmentation surgery. In a simple office procedure with Spectrum implants, your physician can change your implant size by either adding or removing saline for up to six months after your surgery.
